I just placed an order for a digital camera. Finally found a nice replacement, after lots of reviewing and thinking.

I got a Panasonic Lumix FZ50. It's quite nice, and you get an awesome bang for the buck ;)

It has an awesome range, up to 435mm, which is very nice. On the other hand the focal length only starts at 38mm, which is kinda wide.

Noise is another issue though, while the case and handling makes you want it to compare to DSLRs, the noise at bad light conditions makes you just weep.

All in all I like it a lot, and its nice and compact, compared to a DSLR.
